Enrofloxacin and ciprofloxacin are members of the newer fluoroquinolone antibiotics, a fluorine-containing subclass of the quinolones. The main application of quinolones is in the treatment of infection, including, gastrointestinal and respiratory infections both in human and veterinary clinical practices.
